Case Study: Together At Home

Together At Home

TwoFour production for BBC One

BACKGROUND

TwoFour had the challenge to set up a show with all the design elements needed for the studio set, edits and live graphics in a 2 week development window. This was a programme commissioned late with a fixed end date of a live show on BBC One primetime.

This production company, who are focused on creating the next big factual entertainment hits in the UK, contacted Happy Graphics to design and implement all the elements needed for the show. They expected a focused team from Happy to use their experience of live show requirements and deliver stress free in the timescales required. SAFE HANDS

APPROACH

Happy's approach was to:

  • Create and agree Scope list

  • Set up all tasks and progress on Trello

  • Quick turnaround samples for sign off

  • Conf calls / feedback to get verbal comments in these Social Distancing times

Happy's experience of these types of projects involving USA creatives told them to push along with ideas and designs without waiting for USA guidance.

This allowed Happy to get UK sign off first and then share the designs with USA which helped to keep on track with the target dates. Any waiting time at the start of the project would have hurt at the end of the schedule.

RESULTS

Graphics elements were created for use in Post Production, within EVS clips, on the Vision Desk, through Chyron LyricX live graphics and set-up processes to deal with Social Media UGC.

This whole project had to be completed in 2 weeks which included sign off from TwoFour, USA creatives, BBC Editorial Policy and BBC Compliance.....a tough ask.

All the development was completed before the production moved to the Studios.

You’ve been a total joy to work with and you did an absolutely stellar job with all the graphics, thank you so much for all your hard graft. It really paid off.
